Media Design Research
The primary focus of our research is on visual expression theory and production technology in design and art. Also, we are researching about artificial reality, visualization of the invisible information on the Internet, and communication system such as mobile devices and systems. We aim to research and develop a new design system with various sensory devices.

A Study of Media Design

Class objective and theme
This class studies today’s media and their representation methods, including the concepts of ubiquitous product design, and the methods for information design.

Summary of class content
We will address the issues in design regarding today’s media, by referring to cognition and behavior based on visual and other human sensitivity, with patterns and principles of visual information in the history of arts, architecture, and design. They all exist as one mechanism of expression and interpretation. The unit will foster observation and expression techniques in media design.material(closed)

A Theory of Design Communication and A Visual Art Theory

Class objective and theme
This class studies today’s media and their representation methods, including the concepts of current design communication, digital contents and methods.

Summary of class content
Interactivity in computing media not only has changed the traditional form of art and design, but also the process and style of creation. It also affects the representation of information and our perception to the environment. Media Design can be regarded as a transformable design, which infiltrates into various media. It is significant to understand these situations and relationships in order to foresee the direction of the current media.
