We propose a designing as a legibile design system in the new media.
The purpose of this project is to study visual technology of the fine arts and design until now, and a movement today's computer media and that problem in the first term. Then, we should consider present condition and concept of human centered design based on the concept of barrier free and non-verbal design in the second term. Today's fine arts and design expression is moving to the cognition which stimulates awareness of surround with an invisible structure. In other words, it can be said that design appealing to senses is being sought in today's extremely artificial environment. The production system which made use of the property of a computer media is being studied in addition to the process of the traditional expression and production in today's fine arts and design production environment. Relations between design in excellent usability and a person are kept by the better interface in any expression of fine arts and design. Its aim is to propose a proper expression and its system by applying the concept and theory of psychology and cognitive science by these project research on the above.

Design Aided System Studies (Legible Design System)
The representation of the today's art and design does not expose the structure of mechanistic theory in the past. That is to say, it has the invisible structure, and has shifted to cognitive form which stimulates a sense more naturally. In the excessively artificial environment of today, taking into account the validity of legibility and tangibility, more legible and tangible design is needed. In the field of computer media, besides realizing the traditional representation and its process, design and its system which take advantage of computer media are especially sought for.
Interface Design Studies
As in every design and a product, the relationship between design with excellent usability and human beings is kept in a better interface, the form which stimulateslegible and tangible senses. Today, more appropriate usability is being sought by applying concepts and theories of psychology and cognitive science.
Media Art Studies
Interactivity(quick response), that is, the advantage of computer and various other media in the present, has been changing not only the past form of art and design but their process of creations and styles. It also affects the state information should be, our lifestyle and our perception of environments. In addition to the styles of representations as in the past, Media Art can be regarded as an transformable art form which infiltrates into more various media.
Contemporary Art Studies
Targeting society and the public, art in the modern age has increased its power of propaganda. One of methods it began to adopt was to make use of better quality and abundance of materials of the day in order to create art works called mixed media and combine art. Besides the improvement of printing technology, the expansion of the media by TV and film produces synergy effect. In this manner, today's art not only explores representation techniques but emphasizes conceptual aspects of the representation. It is significant to understand these situations and relationships in order to foresee the direction of the media.
在媒體設計研究室裡，我們研究從以前到現在的美術、設計的表現技術及型態，以及今天電腦媒體的動向以及今後的課題。同時我們也與學校內外的研究機關及企業進行共同研究與企畫案，並且慢慢地移轉至以共用性設計(universal design) 為基幹的人性化設計(Human Centered Design) 的現狀以及型態的考察上面；在今天這個過度人工化的環境裡，訴求於感覺的設計才是真正被需求的。

미디어 디자인 연구실에서는, 지금까지의 미술 디자인의 표현 기술과 그 형태에 대해서,그리고 오늘날의 컴퓨터 미디어 등의 동향과 그 과제를 검증하고 있습니다.또한 학내외의 연구 기관이나 기업등과의 공동 연구를 계획하고, 진행시키고 있습니다.유니버셜디자인등의 개념을 기간으로 한 Human Centered Design의 현상과 그 개념에 대해서 고찰 하고자 합니다.현대의 미술이나 디자인의 표현은, 눈으로는 볼 수 없는 구조를 지닌 자연스러운 감각을 촉진시키는 인지적인 형태로 변천하고 있습니다.즉, 오늘날의 상황이 지나치게 인공인적 환경에 의해 오히려 직재 감각에 호소하는 디자인이 요구되고 있다고 말할 수 있습니다.현대 미술 디자인 제작 환경에서는, 지금까지의 표현이나 제작 프로세스에 더해, 특히 컴퓨터 미디어의 특성을 살린 제작 시스템이 연구되고 있습니다.어떤 미술 디자인 표현에 있어서도, 유용성에 뛰어난 디자인과 사람과의 관계는, 보다 좋은 인터페이스에 의해 유지됩니다. 본 프로젝트 연구에서는, 한층 더 심리학이나 인지 과학에 의거하는 개념이나 이론을 응용하는 것에 의해, 적절한 표현이나 그 시스템을 제안하는 것을 목표로 하고, 이하와 같은 연구 테마를 세우고 있습니다.
